HAYFORK, Calif. — Pilots planning a flight into Hayfork Airport (F62) should note the county’s warning that its pilot-activated runway lighting is currently deactivated until further notice. The published airport page describes an asphalt runway designated 07/25, measuring 4,115 feet long and 60 feet wide, at an elevation of 2,321 feet.
What aviation visitors should verify
The county’s airport information identifies right-hand traffic for Runway 25 and lists the local UNICOM frequency as 122.8. This summary is not a substitute for current FAA aeronautical publications or Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs). Runway condition, weather, communications and lighting status can change faster than a static county page, and the pilot remains responsible for checking current authoritative aviation information.
Trinity County owns and operates five public-use general aviation airports, including Hayfork. Its Airports Division says fuel and rental cars are not available at any of its five airports. Travelers should arrange ground transportation and fuel planning in advance rather than assuming that amenities found at large municipal airports will be available.
Local operations and contacts
For hangar inquiries, the county provides the Transportation Department number 530-623-1365. County information also describes overnight aircraft tie-down fees of $3 per night, with seasonal and annual permits offered subject to current rules.
The airport supports access to outdoor recreation in Trinity County, but its mountainous setting and variable seasonal weather make careful planning especially important.
