HAYFORK, Calif. — Hayfork gained a more consistent weekday bus connection with Weaverville in 2026, according to Trinity County’s current transit schedule and regional transportation planning materials. The short-range transit plan records that expanding the Hayfork Line to Monday–Friday service was implemented in February 2026. The current Trinity Transit schedule likewise states that its routes generally run weekdays, except the Lewiston route.
Why the added days matter
Prior service limited Hayfork travelers to three days a week. The expanded schedule was intended to make work, medical appointments, shopping and social-service visits in Weaverville more accessible, especially on Tuesday and Thursday when several offices and libraries operate. The planning document anticipated roughly 230 additional annual passenger trips because of the added days, but that figure was a projection, not a measured result.
How to plan an actual trip
Trinity Transit publishes northbound Hayfork-to-Weaverville and southbound return schedules on its official website. Its connection guide shows transfers toward Redding and other communities. Not every stop is automatic: for a by-request pickup, the agency says passengers must call before 5 p.m. on the preceding day. Flag stops also depend on whether the driver can safely pull off the road.
The transit system does not advertise weekend service or operation on county-observed holidays. Riders should verify the departure, transfer, return time and any weather-related changes rather than rely on an older printed timetable. Trinity Transit can be reached at 530-623-5438.
